Helpless Dog Found Tied To Pole,Reachers Out His Paw To Officer Who Come To Save Him.

Two dogs were reported to be tethered to poles on a dead end street in Pompano, Florida. Officer Angela Laurella was called to the scene.

There were no cameras in the area, so no one knew how long the dogs had been there or who had left them. On the other hand, Officer Laurella understood that there was no time to spend because it was over 100 degrees outside.

When she rushed over, she saw a frail gray dog gripping a pole so hard that he was barely able to move.

He was attached to a pole with a very short leash, according to Amy Roman, president and founder of 100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglades Florida, who told The Dodo. Every bone and rib protruded from him, and he was severely underweight and dehydrated.

The dog, now named Liam, bent his head and put his paw in the officer's hand to accept pets. He appeared to shrink and extend his paw as if to beg her for assistance in leaving the area as she approached him carefully, according to Roman.

Liam had a difficult childhood and needed special care, so Officer Laurella asked the rescue 100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglades Florida for help. Roman was happy to accept Liam even if the rescue was overloaded.

Following numerous clinic visits, Liam is now resting in Roman's home where the 17-pound pocket bulldog is gradually regaining strength and eating better than he has in the past.

Roman continued, "He always gets so much love. He is fed on the hour every hour, so his body becomes used to it. He's having a great time right now since volunteers are making batches of boiled chicken and rice.

Although Liam still has a long way to go, including many vet visits, he has been a joy since his rescue.

Roman remarked, "He loves everyone, and this dog doesn't have a mean bone in his body. "It says it all to me, because after everything he's been through, he's still so appreciative and forgiving," the speaker said.

Liam is one of numerous pets in Florida whose owners recently gave them up for adoption or surrender.

Roman hopes pet owners would seek aid and services from shelters and rescues before deciding they can no longer care for their pets because so many shelters are at capacity. And Liam is a wonderful example of how every dog merits a second chance.

Despite everything, Liam never stops trying to connect with others, demonstrating that he is prepared for a life with a caring family.

Roman said, "I think dogs like Liam can teach humanity a few things. "That merely renews your faith."
