A Deaf And Old Dog That Had Been Lost For Days Is Saved By The Shrewd Tino

 

When a lost puppy named "Puppy" was found 40 hours later, rescuers and a family experienced an emotional moment. Additionally, Tino, a rookie Search and Rescue dog, was responsible.

Great Pyrenees Puppy, weighing 150 pounds, went lost in McCleary, Washington, while riding a horse with his owner Karen James. His owners turned to Three Retrievers Lost Pet Rescue for help after two frantic days of looking.

A Search and organization dog named Tino was given to the nonprofit organization in attempt to find Puppy.

Puppy was found in a muddy gully less than a mile from Tino's house after he had been quickly pursued down. Only his head could be seen through the mire.

Three rescuers were required to safely remove Puppy. "Tino did a terrific job today, discovering this old dog stranded in the muck," Three Retrievers Lost Pet Rescue wrote on Facebook.

He may have been immobilized in the frigid muck for hours if his back feet at first didn't work. Without a search dog, Puppy's family might not have found him because the woodlands are miles long.

Puppy was put in a wagon and transported to his family's house, where they were happy to see him.

James told Fox 13 that "He couldn't escape the muck." He was sufficiently off the route for us to have missed him.

And you know that there are miles and miles and acres and acres of wilderness out there to search. He would never have been found by us.

This was Tino's first "Walk up find" after 16 months of training, according to Three Retrievers Lost Pet Rescue. It was unquestionably a big success!
